Vue d'ensemble du projet

In December 2010, Weihua Group successfully delivered 6 RTG gantry cranes to Bangkok Port, Thailand. As a key container hub in Southeast Asia, the port required reliable and high-efficiency equipment to support growing cargo throughput.

All cranes were manufactured at Weihua’s Liuhe production base and shipped from Taicang Port, China, marking a complete delivery cycle from production to international logistics and on-site commissioning.

Exigences du client

To address the rapid growth in container throughput, the client required a high-performance RTG crane solution capable of delivering efficient container lifting and stacking while adapting flexibly to complex yard layouts. The equipment needed to maintain stable and reliable operation under continuous, high-intensity working conditions, while also minimizing fuel consumption and maintenance costs. In addition, the customer emphasize that must strict compliance with international safety and quality standards to ensure safe, long-term port operations.

Communication Process

Weihua assigned a dedicated project team to manage the entire process, from initial technical evaluation to final delivery. Based on detailed analysis of the yard layout and operating conditions, customized RTG design solutions and technical drawings were provided, followed by multiple rounds of technical discussions to finalize key parameters. At the same time, production scheduling, shipping arrangements, and installation planning were closely coordinated, ensuring all technical requirements and delivery timelines were fully aligned.

Solution Weihua

Weihua supplied 6 customized RTG gantry cranes, designed for efficient container yard operations:

Optimized lifting mechanism and trolley system for fast handling
Rubber tyre structure for high mobility and flexibility

Packing, Loading & Delivery Details

To ensure safe international transportation, Weihua implemented a modular packing and shipping strategy:

  • Main steel structures (gantry beams, legs) were transported in large sections using bulk cargo vessels
  • Key components such as hoisting mechanisms, electrical systems, and control cabinets were packed in sealed containers to prevent moisture and corrosion
  • Critical parts were protected with anti-rust coating, waterproof wrapping, and reinforced wooden crates
  • Each shipment was clearly labeled for easy identification and on-site assembly

During loading at Taicang Port:

Heavy components were handled using specialized lifting equipment and rigging plans
Strict supervision ensured balanced loading and secure fastening to avoid damage during sea transport
A detailed shipping checklist and inspection report was completed before departure

For delivery and installation:

Weihua coordinated closely with the client on arrival schedule and customs clearance
Provided on-site technical guidance for assembly and commissioning
Ensured all 6 RTG cranes were installed and tested according to project timeline

Commentaires sur le projet
