Working Principle

A Rubber Tyred Gantry RTG Crane operates by combining vertical lifting with horizontal movement to efficiently handle containers in a yard or terminal. The hoisting trolley travels along the main girder to position the spreader directly above a container. The spreader locks onto the container’s corner fittings, lifts it vertically, and then moves it horizontally along the girder or by driving the entire crane on its rubber-tired wheels to the target location.
